On March 5, 2025, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Climate and Environment, stakeholders of the CCUS technology sector in Poland, together with Deputy Minister Krzysztof Bolesta, signed a Letter of Intent on the development of carbon capture, transport, storage, and utilisation technologies in Poland.

We are proud to announce that our Association has joined the group of signatories of a Letter of Intent signed jointly with the Minister of Climate and Environment, as well as representatives from academia, business, and civil society. On behalf of the CCUS Poland Association, the letter was signed by Ms. Agnieszka Baran, Chair of the Association’s Council.
The agreement aims to support the development of carbon capture, transport, storage, and utilisation technologies in Poland—key tools in the pursuit of climate neutrality and the long-term competitiveness of the Polish economy.

By signing the letter, the signatories committed to undertaking wide-ranging actions in the area of CCS/CCUS, including:

developing a national strategy for the deployment of carbon capture, transport, storage, and utilisation technologies across the economy;
building national and local competencies in CCUS technologies;
establishing a comprehensive legal framework that defines the division of responsibility among CCS/CCUS market participants and enables effective implementation of investment projects;
launching commercial-scale underground and offshore CO₂ storage projects;
identifying infrastructure needs and a development model for CO₂ transport and storage networks;
creating support mechanisms for CCUS technologies at various stages of technological readiness;
strengthening international cooperation in the field of CCS/CCUS;
identifying R&D priorities for the further advancement of CCUS solutions;
sharing knowledge and information about CCUS and developing an action plan to build social acceptance for these technologies.
The CCUS Poland Association is deeply committed to supporting a sustainable energy and industrial transition. Signing the Letter of Intent represents another important step for us, enabling the implementation of ambitious projects aimed at reducing CO₂ emissions and supporting energy-intensive industries.
We believe that collaboration among a broad coalition of experts and institutions will ensure the effective deployment of CCUS solutions and open new opportunities for a green, innovation-driven economy.

We look to the future of this initiative with enthusiasm and invite all interested stakeholders to follow our activities and join us in developing innovative climate solutions!
