As part of its ongoing commitment to the development of carbon capture, transport, storage, and utilisation technologies in Poland, the CCUS Poland Association has once again reached out to the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
We have reaffirmed our readiness to actively participate in the work of governmental working groups and expert teams that are crucial to shaping the future of this technology in the country.

Following the meeting of the Working Group on the Development of CCUS Technologies held on December 19, 2024, the CCUS Poland Association has renewed its request to become a formal member of the group.
In line with earlier declarations, we also submitted a formal request to the Ministry of Climate and Environment to include our President of the Board as a representative in two key sub-groups:

  1. Communication Sub-Group
The Association’s role will include preparing a preliminary cost assessment for a nationwide information campaign on CCUS technologies.
This campaign will be based on a concept framework developed in 2023, with cost estimates to be presented during the first 2025 meeting of the Working Group.
  2. Regulatory Sub-Group
Our experts—representing academia, industry, and the Association—are ready to provide substantive support in aligning Polish legislation with the European Net-Zero Industry Act (NZIA). Our in-depth knowledge and practical experience in CCUS will contribute to meaningful knowledge exchange and the development of effective legal frameworks supporting the sector’s growth.

Why It Matters
The involvement of CCUS Poland in these groups is crucial for the effective transformation of the Polish economy and industry toward climate neutrality.
Our mission is not only to support the development of sound regulatory frameworks, but also to raise public awareness and foster constructive dialogue between public institutions and market stakeholders.

Commitment to Collaboration
As part of our continued support for CCUS development in Poland, the Association has also expressed its readiness to sign the Letter of Intent on the development of CO₂ capture, transport, storage, and utilisation technologies.
We believe our active participation will help accelerate both the regulatory and operational processes necessary to implement these vital technologies nationwide.

We invite all stakeholders to follow our activities and join us in advancing effective decarbonisation of Polish industry and the energy sector.
